Watercolor Sketch mid 1970's

  1. This brought something back to me. In the summer of 1978, I was driving home from my job at a State Park-for the curious, Swan Lake State Park in Carroll Iowa. I was bored with the main highway route and was going home by blue highway-a paved secondary road. About 10 miles south of home, I saw something which made me curse not having my camera. It was a farm house rather like you have pictured, it had been raining fairly hard and there was a stormy sky behind the house, and the house illuminated by the only sunlight visible. This is burned in my memory.

  2. My Dad would often make watercolor paintings or drawings of scenes like this which were typical to northeastern Iowa and the area where he was from. Nice to hear that this piece found some meaning for you.
